More shots of the hills....

This was taken on our hike of our old fireroad trail whenwe decided to climb up on top of a big rock. The view was even more spectacular!!!! here is Mt Rushmore from "above" the tree line.
On top of the faces is where they launch the Fireworks from.......

This is the big rock we decided to climp. Actually we found a pretty easy route up there from around back.............

Here is Harney Peak from atop of the rock. This is the highest point East of the rockies in the US. Actually all the way to Europe. We have hiked up there several times. Its a great hike. 3 miles up and 3 miles down.....It was a fire lookout tower for the National Forest service for years.

We are looking down from the big rock we climbed up on, its higher than it looks. See the tree tops down below......
WHAT A VIEW !!!!
That's it until next time......Hope you enjoy these hills as much as we do!!!!!!!
It's a GREAT DAY !!!!!!!

Repaired KING DOME..

I'm on top of the rig,,,,,Great view up here!!! Neighbors house, McDonald's Neighbors house, Cordell's

I tried to cover the entire roof with solar panels.

Our King Dome hasn't been working for a while and tech service for them hasn't been able to find out the problem. I've spent hours on th phone with them. They advised me I needed to send it in to St.Paul,MN for repair. NOW,,,that's a JOB!!!
I took it off and sent it to them and here are a few pictures of when I reinstalled it. BELIEVE IT OR NOT IT WORKED!!!! It is real nice to have when you been traveling all day and just want to stop for the night and don't want to set up the dish, just hit a button and it finds the Satellite and that's it. That's IF its working. Well its working again now!!! Found the Satellite on the first try!!!!

It'a a GREAT day !!!

Our private hiking trail in CSP

We found this old fire road in Custer State Park when we worked out here and decided to go check it out again today. We remembered it had a GREAT view of Mt Rushmore. It is NEAT!!

Since Mt Rushmore has such a SUPERB Fireworks display on the evening of the 3rd of July, we decided it would be great to get a group of our friends together and show them this beautiful place and watch the fireworks. So we scouted the place out this morning so we can bring them up here, way back in the forest. We should have a real good, private place to set our lawn chairs up and watch the sky light up!!!
I'll let you know how it works out....

Come on and join us!!!

IT'S A GREAT DAY !!

Time is Flying!!!!

We have been back on our "place on the hill" in the Black Hills of SD for over 2 weeks!!!!!
All kinds of things have been happening.......

Chuck and Rhoda Roper our X neighbors and good friends from Tallahassee, Fl were here for a few days and we did 3 nice hikes in Custer State park with them. We showed them the Park and then let them explore a lot on their own. They just loved the Hills!!! Now they can see why we don't even want to go back to FLORIDA..........Time came too soon for them to leave and we miss them already.

We met new friends and recent fulltimers Larry and LeeAnn McCormick from Las Vegas,NV. Its so exciting to see new fulltimers and see how much they enjoy this lifestyle. makes us remember that we take it for granted way to much.......It seems only yesterday that we started out and we can't even think of living any other way. It will Kill us if we ever have to give it up. But we know we will have to someday. Right now we don't want to THINK about it.
We enjoyed Larry and LeeAnn very much and look to seeing them and getting to know them better. They want to hike the trails with us. That's fine we love that, makes it more fun for us to go. They are followers of Howard and Linda and the RV-Dreams forum.

Our old (were ALL OLD!) friends that we worked with for so MANY years (9) out in Custer State Park were invited to our house last night for happy hr. It was sure GREAT seeing the Stewarts, Bob and Shirley and the Zubrod's, Duane and Kaye. The Kramers, Daryl and Catherine couldn't make it. Catherine works at the winery (wouldn't that be fun :)) and didn't get off until late. We all spent some real fine times together in the Park. We will cherish those times for ever. Sometimes Memories are all one has left, remember to cherish them.

The weather has been good, but its starting to warm up a little. Got up to 90 today for a short time and it was 68 when we got up this morning. We ALMOST had a hail storm the other night. BOY, it was to CLOSE for comfort. Hailed like Hail for a few minutes and we started to get GOLF ball SIZE. But our prayers were answered and it stopped.....Whew!!
ENOUGH of that, no damage this time.

We have lots of our RV'n friends that will be stopping by this summer to see us. Its always fun to have friends stop and spend a night or two on our little "Hill" and see the view we have....In fact with the 4th of July coming up, our yard might be FULL!! wouldn't that be great.

I'll try to take more time and keep this up to date a little better. Maybe if I done it more often and not so Looooooong, it would be better...YES!!!

Drop back again when you can.....c u later

Back in the beautiful BLACK HILLS !!

Our view of the Needles Hwy and Cathedral Spires.
From our "hill top".

We had a good trip from S Texas to Casper,WY and made it in good shape. Spent a week at the Teton factory and drove the last 250 miles over to our "place on the hill". Happy to be back!! The weather for the entire trip was PERFECT!!!! We even had a "tail" wind for 3 days and only 1 day of a headwind. Hit 1 rainstorm in Cheyenne,WY but it was not serious. Enjoyed the stay at the Teton factory, visited with old friends and made new ones. Took the factory tour one day and saw them building 5-6 new 2008's. They keep making nice changes, just enough to make you want a new one,,,,,,,,,,,whoa here,,,no way!!!! Ours is NEW! :)

Pat and I spent all day yesterday settling in. Opening our shop, storage building getting out the picnic table, etc, mowing and weed eating and all those good things. NOW, the place looks great. But we both were "pooped"........geez, forgot what work was like! had to take Advil just to get to sleep. BUT,,,,,,,today I feel like a NEW MAN!!!!!! Looked in the mirror,,,,,and I sure don't look like one!!!:(

Chuck and Rhoda Roper will be here Wed afternoon. They are our X neighbors and good friends from Tallahassee, Florida. Looking forward to seeing them. They will be around enjoying the Hills for a few days....

Now we have to get to HIKING some of these trails. Although we have done most all of them several times, we still enjoy it. I told Pat the other day, when I die, I want my ashes spread up here at one of our favorite places on the "lovers Leap" trail, right at LOVERS LEAP!!!! Of all the places we've been in the US, this is our favorite!!!! Especially during June, July, Aug and Sept.
Stop and see us!!!!
ANOTHER GREAT DAY !!!!!!!!!!!
