Go NEBRASKA!

I’ve always been proud of being a native NEBRASKAN. I spent almost the first 45 years of my life in Nebraska, graduated from the University of Nebraska School of Agriculture, raised my family of 3 boys there and was a State Trooper serving the people of the State for many years.

However, I will agree that except for "Football", Nebraska seldom gets any recognition. Therefore, I was quite proud to see that a young lady, Teresa Scanlan, from the extreme Western Panhandle town of Scottsbluff/Gering was selected MISS AMERICA!!  Congratulations to this Teresa!  Well done!!

Then almost at the same time my son Pat sent me this news clip from ABC……..Check this out and I’ll bet you will find out something about the great state of Nebraska you didn’t know! SURPRISE!

Ms Pat and I have busy taking advantage of this great 70* weather. Here we are washing and treating our Solar Screens. This is kinda like washing windows!!Winking smile However, we love this screened  porch….

Ms Pat loves to Line Dance and she goes to that 4 days a week for a couple hours. I can find plenty to do around here while she is gone. I have been maintaining the automatic watering system this place has. It is an underground watering system that waters all the Oleander hedge, our Orange/Grapefruit trees and the other trees in our front yard. It comes on every 5th morning and waters several different sections for specified amounts of time. I have been learning the system, how it works, how it is constructed and made some repairs. It works real neat!

Since I have a busy day ahead and have to get an early start as I head up to Prescott today and do a few things I need to get done on the truck to get it ready to tow.  I leave you with this little bit of humor that my friend Gregg sent.  It cracks me up!

“I am passing this on to you because it definitely works, and we could all use a little more calmness in our lives. By following simple advice heard on the Dr. Phil show, you too can find inner peace. Dr Phil proclaimed, "The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started and have never finished."
So, I looked around my house to see all the things I started and hadn't finished, and before leaving the house this morning, I finished off a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream, a package of Oreos, the remainder of my old Prozac prescription, the rest of the cheesecake, some Doritos, a box of chocolates, and the last bit of the tequila.
You have no idea how freaking good I feel right now.

Pass this on to those whom you think might be in need of inner peace."

LOL!!

It is a GREAT WEEK!!!!

Thanks for stopping by…

Now that's the way to achieve inner peace!

I also lived in Nebraska for many years (Bellevue/Omaha) and can only think of one reason to go back. Stella's hamburgers!

I think it was Nebraska where I walked around the outside of that big white house of Buffalo Bills & wasn't it Nebraska where Johnny Carson was born. Nice that the former owners of your place had the forethought to install that underground watering system. Saves dragging hoses all over the place. Line dancing....I'm with you Mike & would be home finding things for myself to do for sure:))

Like Janna and Mike, we also have seen that before, loved it then, loved it again today. There are several things around here that could easily be "finished" in that manner.

Our SKP Park insists on desert landscaping, and does not allow watering systems. At least not drip systems. And for our park, as an almost Board member, I agree. Of course, we are not able to purchase sites like your park allows, and that has to make a difference. We're still hoping to see your place sometime, if we can find you home!
