Smoke, Smoke everywhere!! It just goes on and on, everyday there is smoke. The picture above normally shows a great view of the Cathedral Spites and the Needles Highway, but you can’t even see them and it's like this every day. So many fires going on around us it's impossible to keep track of them all. I know the Smoky Mountains are back East, but this has sure been the Smoky Black Hills lately. It is so dry! We pray for everybody that are almost consumed by the many fires in so many states.
Jack and Danielle are in Woodland Park, just above Colorado Springs, and have been on "Pre-Evacuation Status" for days. So far, at least the last time we talked to them, they are still on standby. It almost seems the whole western United States is on fire!! We have had it easy compared to many other areas. Hot and Dry!! We need the "rain dancers"!!
Last year at this time this is how our Kitchen looked……..This picture was taken on June 18, 2011
This is how that same area looked on Sept 14, 2011. What a difference in just 3 months!! We are so happy with this entire project. There has been a lot of effort on a lot of people's part to make it all come about. I guess you could say a lot of blood, sweat, tears and a WHOLE LOT OF LOVE went into it all. But it sure is nice and we are enjoying it immensely.
We still had one item that just didn’t fit. This old refrigerator looked terribly out of place. It had served us well as an “extra” for years out in our shed but it sure didn’t do our new kitchen any justice. Plus with the freezer across the top, you had to almost get on your knees to get anything out of the bottom food section. The older we get, the harder it is to get down on your knees...if you know what I mean. :-) We knew it had to GO!!!
Just a few days ago, on June 30th, they delivered our new "Kenmore Elite French-Door Bottom-Freezer" refrigerator. Pretty nice isn't it and we even got a really good deal on it.
Now that’s better!!
It’s a beauty and is so much easier to use……..Ms. Pat is HAPPY!!!
A few more pictures of our beautiful “Cabin” that we are so happy with and proud of. We still need a few little decorative items to finish it off but we are VERY HAPPY with our new "home in the Hills".
It is a GREAT WEEK!!!!
Rollie called last night and expressed how happy Gina is with her "Surprise". You just have to go over to his Blog and find out about it……All Because Two People Fell in Love.
I hope you all are enjoying this wonderful day of celebration of our INDEPENDENCE and thanking the many that have made it possible for us!!!
We also continue to Thank God for all the many things he has blessed Ms. Pat and I with.

Our air here in Billings has finally cleared up a lot since they got the fire up by Roundup contained. We definitely do need the rain dancers everywhere in the West. Be safe.
Now that is a fancy refridgerater. That was a nice finishing touch to a beautiful kitchen. The whole cabin is beautiful!!
Love and Hugs,
Your kids
What nice improvements.. sure coming all together into a nice cozy abode!

Your "cabin" is beautiful and I love the quilt in the last photo as well. So sorry to see all the smoke and fires. We are heading to the Black Hills at the end of the month, sure hope it is still there.
Wow...your Cabin is beautiful. Great job and enjoy the rest of your week!
Got some nice looking digs there for sure. Hope all that smoke doesn't come a creepin inside & mess things up on ya. We have the same blue chair in our sun room that you have in your living room. Like the idea of the TV up on the wall.
Glad to see your kitchen has come around for you. I hope you all had a nice, if smokey 4th holiday. just take it easy and hope for rain. We got one good storm the other day and now it's back to 103degres for another week. I can see hitching up and heading for the Lake next week. Be safe out There. Sam & Donna.....
We are here in Broken Arrow CG and have a beautiful view of the hills WHEN there is no smoke. I feel so sorry for those out there fighting these terrible fires. It looks like just maybe there will be a bit of rain for this area. If so, that should help the firefighters.
The kitchen is amazing. Just beautiful!
Your "cabin" is much nicer than many people's homes. You two have done a terrific job!

Usually I do not learn post on blogs, however I wish to say that this write-up very pressured me to try and do so! Your writing style has been surprised me. Thank you, very great post.
Michael and I both love that quilt on the bed!! The cabin looks great--you guys did a good job!
what a lovely 'snuggle' place you have there...very nicely done...
Lovely, lovely cabin.
We were in Black Hawk last week and a few days were surrounded with smoke.
Now in Hermosa for a month. Got treated to a lightening storm last night and rain, rain, rain. So glad to see it. We do hope it rained in other much needed areas. More would be welcome.
If we knew you were in the area we would have stopped by. We're headed to WY in the morning.
What a great cabin! I'm glad you like it here, it's a wonderful place. We sure wouldn't stay in the winter and see you don't either. lol
We'll meet up sometime in the future, we'll be back.
You should keep it up forever! Good Luck.
