This is a picture of great Granddaughters Cora and Alice during their first Christmas. Aren’t they beautiful? I wish we didn’t live so far away. Both Ms. Pat and I would love to “hold” them for a while..
Ms. Pat continues to make progress on her latest project. I certainly never realized how many hours of work went into these quilts. Sewing each and every one of those little tiny squares together takes some time and patience. Here she has the finished top laid out checking to see if she has everything just right and how it will look. Yesterday after her ladies shooting class we stopped at the quilt store in Wickenburg and she picked up the backing she will use. She really loves doing this and although it looks like a lot of “work” to me, she says “It's fun”!
It was sure a pretty day around here yesterday. Started the morning off with a cool 39*, but it was clear and sunny and warmed up to nearly 70* before the day was over.
It cools down very quickly when the sun goes down and it sure makes these wonderful soups like this Shrimp and Corn soup that Ms. Pat makes taste REAL GOOD!!! Gina made this soup for us when we stopped to see them in Louisiana on our way from Florida to Arizona. YUM YUM....very GOOD! Thanks Gina!!!! She gave Ms Pat the recipe and she's made it for us several times.
I want to welcome our latest follower DAVE. Dave has been with us for a while and I want to thank him for signing on.
Thank you all for taking the time from your busy schedule to stop by.
We are counting the days until JRoger and Susan get here to visit us on their very first trip WEST!! They're driving all the way from Florida in their new Motorhome. I’ll be showing you more of it when they arrive.
It is a GREAT WEEK!!!!
God Bless You All.

What cute and beautiful girls you have there, There goes Grandpa's heart.Maybe when they are a little older they can make an RV trip with you guys. Hope all is well. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna....
A neighbor lady during my younger years was an avid quilter. After I commented on the beauty of her quilt, her husband said "I never could figure out why anyone would take a perfectly good piece of material; cut it up in tiny pieces and then sew it back together!" Never forgot that :-)
Wow, your great granddaughters are beautiful! Have a great week.
Makes me sick to read about the wages those people make.
A bowl of Ms. Pat's Shrimp and Corn soup would taste delicious right now. Cold, rainy and damp here in Mission, Texas.
Must be a labor of love with all those quilting ladies. Guess there just are things not meant for us fellers to understand. I just can't imagine the patience it must take to put all those material pieces together. Nice looking quilt Pat & nice looking Grand Kids for you guys, :))
Those babies are adorable!
Beautiful kids...totally agree with the bloated retirement packages...SOUP RECIPE, Please....

Sweet greats...don't just want to snuggle with them?
Although, I think we can all appreciate the sentiment expressed about the salaries of our elected officials, but many of the figures are not accurate at all. but let's not ruin a good argument with facts.
Looking forward to getting back out to Arizona.
