A good Fishing test Day!!!

We were a little worried about our fishing trip Wednesday because the wind blew HARD all night long and it was still blowing pretty good (bad?) the next morning. Wind was forecast to be a factor most of the day.....so we pondered about it and almost scrubbed it. However, we both wanted to go and had put it off long enough. I learned a long time ago, you can't let the weather govern your life. If you do, you'll miss a lot!! Plus, I wanted to see if my Boat motor ran OK......So we took off about 0630 for lake Angostura. Above is a picture as we were putting the boat in the water. I had the little 35 hp Evinrude motor all prepared and I "thought" it would run. It has always been very reliable. I touched the starter button and she fired right off immediately! By 0730 we were out on the lake fishing......

By 0745 Pat had her first Walleye in the net....... The wind started coming up, then it would die down a little, but soon come up again. It kept that up all morning. I don't like to be out on the Lake when the wind is blowing. A little breeze is fine, but this lake can be quite treacherous with much wind.. You spend 2/3rds of the time steering the boat and 1/3 fishing.. I fought the wind as we trolled around some of our favorite fishing spots until about noon,,,,,by then we were worn out..... Plus we had 3 Nice Walleye in the boat and we were ready to head for home..... We loaded the boat and cleaned the fish at the cleaning station and called it a successful trip. We found out the boat motor runs great and fine tuned some of our fishing gear so we will be all set when we get some decent weather....

Sorry I didn't get a picture of the fish, but above is a picture of Pat in her usual spot. I will admit that she caught 2 out of the 3 fish. That's not unusual, she always out fishes me.. It's because I'm so busy FINDING the fish for HER to catch! Yep, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!!:-) There is a 14" min length limit and one of Pat's fish was over 18", all nice fish. So it was a successful day!! Of course, any day FISHING is a good day!!!

It was a GREAT WEEK !!!

Hope you all are having a good Memorial weekend......

Thanks for stopping by.......Remember to tell your kids that you love them, they may not be around forever....God Bless!

But even a day of fishing and catching NO fish is better than a day at work, right? We know you had a nice time and Mike, that sure is nice of you to find all the fish for Pat to catch. Love you both! :)+

Mike: I see in the photo of your launching the boat that there is an X that must have washed up in the waves. I like those kind of lakes where they mark the places for you to fish. Bruce
